We know that most of you will not be interested in this (or be able to go) but here is an AWESOME opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge and HAVE A BLAST at the same time.
We are taking a little field trip to go to the Clinton Anderson Walk About Tour in Las Vegas on June 12-13 2010.
The event is being held at the South Point Equestrian Center IN the host venue, South Point Hotel/Casino located at 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. in Las Vegas, NV.
TICKETS COVER BOTH DAYS
Advanced ticket price is just $25.00 (www.downunderhorsemanship.com)
Tickets at the door are $50.00
best to get them in advance.
The workshop runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
There looks to be an exhibitors/merchants area as well. So you may be able to find some good deals on stuff for your horses (grin)! We had a BLASY last year in Reno and this workshop looks to be even better!
For those unfamiliar with this renowned trainer/clinician you can check out his website (given above) or catch his T.V. shows on RFD-TV (check your cable guide for details). Clinton is the only person to have ever won the Road to the Horse competition TWICE (this is a competition where three trainers get an unbroke/rarely handled horse and within three hours have to start them under saddle, ride a series of patterns and then ride a freestyle routine. Pretty awesome to see). If you web search, Clinton Anderson, Ian Francis or Road to the Horse you can learn more about these great horsemen and a truly inspirational event. As we all know there is no "one true way" to achieving your horsemanship goals. We have been working with this method of training for about a year now and have gotten great results. It is always a good idea to expand your knowledge and experience base.
Clinton Anderson's TWO mentors/instructor and renowned Aussie horsemen Ian Francis and Gordan McKinnley will also be on hand teaching some of their Advanced Riding and Cow Horse training techniques. This is the FIRST time BOTH men have been under the same roof teaching together in the U.S.A. It is an opportunity not to be missed!
Our plan is to attend both days but you can do just one if you wish. We've booked a room at the host venue Friday-Sunday. Room rates are $85.00 (Friday/Saturday nights) and $55.00 (Sunday night). You can go to www.southpointcasino.com and use "Clinton Anderson" as your reference code. Special are happening all the time. There will be activities for No Worries Club members Saturday night and a VIP party (in case you are part of the club that is). Check out www.downunderhorsemanship.com for more details. Of course even if you are not a NWC member
you are in Las Vegas! There is LOTS to see and do! We're making it a mini vacation!
We are also looking into cheap flights and can keep interested folks posted. We may just drive from Placerville (it is only 9 hours). Our plan is to leave Friday after 3:00pm.
If you think you might be interested and want to be kept in the loop please drop us a note at dcamville@...
so we won't clutter up the lists.
We have ONE spare ticket left. If you are interested in attending with us PLEASE chime in!
Hope to see a few of our SCA Equestrian enthusiasts joining us!
YES...We know it is the same time as the Western States Horse Expo (our traininer will be showing off her Mustang there in the Mustang Challenge) and Arts/Sciences. You make your choices based on your needs and priorities, right? Just wanted to present the option.
