If you are traveling all the way into Oregon, my place in Talent, about 20 miles north of the border is about 6 minutes off I-5 if you want/need a place for horses to unload, stretch their legs, perhaps even spend the night. If contacted far enough in advance I could provide this.

If you are traveling with horses up I-5, this is from the officer in charge of that area.
My question was 'Is there a rest area with a safe place to temporarily unload a horse on northern I-5?

The R.E. Collier Safety Roadside Rest Area 14 miles north of the City of Yreka is the only one in my area where it is safe to unload a horse. My area covers I-5 in Shasta, Tehama and Siskiyou Counties.
This rest area covers both directions of traffic and is 10 miles from the Oregon border. The safe place to unload the horse is on the south end of the rest area.
