PBM Offers Premium, Holiday Auction to Raise Funds for
Comprehensive Youth Program
Washington, DC – On November 28th, the Friday after Thanksgiving - known annually as Black Friday, Powerful Beyond Measure (PBM) launched its 4th entertainment, sports and consumer auction. In celebration of the holiday season, the innovative non-profit unveiled its new on-going approach to providing treats and gift options to the public, while also generating money to support its program for inner-city, Washington, DC youth. The auction is hosted through on-line powerhouse, eBay. This important fundraiser will take place from its launch until the new year, and offer a new item every three days to a nationwide audience. Powerful Beyond Measure offers programming to lower-income, at-risk and urban students utilizing the entertainment, arts, media and sports industries in creative and productive ways.
The auction will offer an array of general, luxury, and specialty items; including autographed sports memorabilia, book and CD collections, spa packages, household goods, and entertainment collectibles - while also offering other unique packages for all tastes. Visitors are encouraged to come back often to see which item is up and to choose the perfect gift items. “The auction allows supporters and general buyers to give twice, once to whoever the recipient of the item is, even if it is a gift to oneself, and again as the proceeds help keep our youth program alive!” shares PBM Executive Director, Tracy Press.
To support the auction, buyers can visit www.ebay.com and proceed to ‘Advanced Search.” Once in this sub-menu, visitors can go to “Find a Member” and type in powerfulbeyondmeasure. Once the match is found (under Washington DC ), visitors will be led to the Powerful Beyond Measure page, with an option to view all listings for the auctions. Each listing will be up for auction for five days.

Powerful Beyond Measure (PBM) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on youth development and aiding lower-income families, by integrating the entertainment, arts, sports and media industries. Our mission is to utilize these influential fields to effectively reach urban communities via creative programming and focused services that will shape young people and empower adults to become active leaders. This strategy was developed upon the realization that these industries were powerful by way of their appeal to our target population. By finding a way to positively harness that power to make programs more appealing, we can continue to implement the important values and beneficial offerings of more conventional non-profits.
