Tonight - Halloween "Trick or Treat Hot Spot" on Georgia Avenue: On Wednesday, October 31 (Halloween), Morgans Seafood is hosting a "Trick or Treat" event from 5:00PM - Midnight. The night will be filled with yummy goodies, music and spooky fun!! Location: Morgan Seafood - 3200 Georgia Avenue NW, DC 20010 Time: 5:00PM - Midnight
Saturday November 3rd at 12:00 - Georgia Avenue Homeless Walk - The Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place along with the Georgia Avenue Community Development Task Force, College Democrats (Howard University Chapter) NAACP (Howard University Chapter), Ubiquity Inc and the Georgia Avenue Business Alliance invite you to gather with us in support of the services Friendship Place offers those struggling with homelessness. We will meet in Bruce Monroe Park for a few words from formerly homeless individuals along with leaders from the local community fighting to end homelessness including Councilmember Jim Graham. This will be followed by a collective walk to the park in front of the Howard University Hospital. To register or to become a sponsor please call John Harris at (202)503-2967. The cost is $20 for ages 25 and under and $30 for adults 26 and older. If you cannot provide the suggested amount please still come out to support and bring what you can. Wednesday November 7th at 6:30pm at ECAC - 733 Euclid St: Community Meeting to discuss improvements to the Bruce Monroe Park
Monday November 12th from 7-9pm at the ECAC - GA Ave Task Force Meeting. Marc Bleyer from the Deputy Mayor Office of Education will be here to discuss the new schools facilities plan.
Monday November 19th - Georgia Avenue Business Alliance monthly meeting from 8:00AM - 10:00AM, and then from 6:00PM - 8:00PM, in the Brightwood and Kennedy community. Location is TBA for now.
November 22nd: Thanksgiving Day Open House at the Emergence Community Arts Collective - 733 Euclid St. NW. 3:00pm. Pot luck, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes
Monday December 10: Georgia Avenue Community Development Task Force party
