      Sorry but no, the Rev war netherwear will most certainly NOT do!
      The waist had moved up from the rev war hip (rather like the modern trouser
      waist) to the 'natural' waist (just below the rib cage) So if the coat is cut
      correctly there will be a gap between the bottom of an 1812 coat and the top
      of Rev War trousers. Unacceptable for the period. There should be a 2-3"
      overlap of the coat and the trousers kept in place on braces (suspenders).
