Here is the agenda for Malcolm's Mill please feel free to join our event.

Battle of Malcolm’s Mill (The Last Shot Fired)

The Battle of Malcolm’s Mill committee is hosting the 200th anniversary of the last battle on Canadian soil during the War of 1812. The battle was on November 5 th, 1814 but due to unknown conditions of the battle field in November (can be like a bog at that time of the year) they have asked us to hold an event on June 27th, 28th 29th, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held on November5th, 2014 at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Ontario. The time has not been set yet but will be posted closer to the date.

This small battle was based on Brig-General Duncan McArthur and his Kentucky/Ohio Militia and their native allies against the local militia, Middlesex, Oxford and Norfolk Militias. Because of this we are asking the re-enactors to be in militia uniform or civilian attire if possible. If you wish to bring your units uniforms for demonstrations and pictures please feel free to bring them along. The artillery will not take part in the battle since it was not there 200 years ago. Any artillery is being asked to give demonstrations
