Re: 1812 New Orleans 200th
- This is for the off site battle, recreating the engagement of Dec 23, done every year on Friday evening, prior to the NPS event, at Packenham Oaks. The Oaks are part of the De La Ronde plantation. This area was used as a staging area for American troops prior to the night attack of the 23rd. It is approx 2 miles below the battlefield of Jan 8. on St. Bernad HWY.
Mr. Bayham is the person in charge of the commemoration in St. Bernard Parish.
There are no opposed line demonstration on NPS property.

Last year at Queenston Heights there was a man distributing handbills for the reenactment at Chalmette, Saint Bernard's Parish which listed the next few years reenactments up to 2015. I'm not sure if this is the same site as the National Park or not. The contact given was Mike Bayham at mbayham@... (504-278-1033) or Saint Bernard Parish Tourism.
