The Battle of Ogdensburg, Feb. 23 & 24, 2013
- The War of 1812 bicentennial battle re-enactment commemorates the Feb. 22, 1813 battle when Anglo-Canadian forces crossed the frozen St. Lawrence and attacked the U.S. base in Ogdensburg.
Forsyth's Rifles Inc. Fort Wellington N.H.S., the Fort La Présentation Association and the Prescott 1812 Bicentennial Committee are hosting the 29th Battle of Ogdensburg re-enactment Feb. 23 & 24, 2013 in Ogdensburg, NY and Prescott, ON.
On-site registration begins 10am Saturday at the Ogdensburg Recreation Center on Riverside Avenue.
The re-enactment will be held in the afternoons as a street battle through Ogdensburg Saturday and at Lighthouse Point Sunday. A skirmish will be held Saturday morning at 10am on the grounds of Fort Wellington in Prescott to promote the battle in Ogdensburg.
The Freight House Restaurant in Ogdensburg will be available for free overnight accommodations (bring your cot and sleeping bag). Friday, the Freight House offers a special half-chicken dinner with all the trimmings for $10 and will provide $5 breakfasts Saturday and Sunday mornings. The Fort Wellington Blockhouse will be available for free accommodations; bring your own bedding. Indoor washroom facilities will be open during the day; there will be a portable toilet during the evening. The fort will be open to the public on Saturday between 10am and 4pm during which all modern items must be hidden from view.

Events are scheduled on U.S. and Canadian sides of the border, please bring a passport or enhanced license for easier border crossing.
