June 18th London Central Library @ 7:30
- The Upper Thames Military Reenactment Society (Royal Scots Light company)
The London premier of "Battle Hill" (6 min.), a movie re-enactment of The Battle of the Longwoods, 1814 will be followed by an explanation of how the film was made. Also, author Glenn Stott will discuss his new book Taken and Destroyed, a key resource for researchers identifying claims for losses suffered during the War of 1812. As well, members of the Upper Thames Military Reenactment Society (UTMRS) will discuss the current "barn quilt project", the 1812 veterans' grave markers and the Longwoods bicentennial in 2014. Q&A to follow.
We had also planned to fire a volley at Victoria Park before the library event but the cost of insurance was too prohibitive to go ahead with that portion of the event.
