- JANUARY EVENTS
Jan. 8th -- The Friends of the Monroe County Historical Museum proudly present the Premiere Showing of the PBS American Experience Documentary on the Life of General George A. Custer. Sunday, January 8, at 2pm, the premiere will be held at the River Raisin Center for the Arts (next to the museum) and prior to the showing a 1pm a reception will be held at the Museum. Admission is FREE!
Jan. 20th -- (Friday) The War of 1812 Bicentennial Committee will host the annual Dance Thru Time fundraising event at the La-Z-Boy, Meyer Theater
Jan. 21st -- (Saturday) The Friends of the River Raisin Battlefield will host the annual Battle of the River Raisin Commemoration at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park. January 2012 starts the Bicentennial of the War of 1812! More details to follow...
Jan. 24th -- "Legend of the Ledger" - The Monroe County Historical Society will unveil to the public a trading post ledger from 1800's Frenchtown.

During January Museum hours are Wed. - Sat. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. - closed Sundays starting January.

The River Raisin National Battlefield Park is open 7 days a week! There is NO admission! [presumably, should add the word "charge" here... - Jim Yaworsky, moderator]
Weekdays the hours are 10am-4pm, weekend hours are 9am-5pm. Closed New Years Day.
