The 41st Regiment of Foot Military Living History Group is pleased to present the tenth instalment in the popular 41st Regiment Lecture Series featuring Dr. Wesley Turner, Historian and War of 1812 Author.
Wes Turner lives in Niagara On The Lake. He taught at Brock University for 31 years, retiring in 1998. He has written a number of books, including two specific to the War of 1812: The War of 1812: The War that Both Sides Won and British Generals in the War of 1812: High Command in the Canadas.
He has also written many articles, book reviews and biographies and has delivered talks on many aspects of Canadian history, particularly the War of 1812.
We are quite excited to feature Dr. Turner and sincerely hope you can join us to hear him speak about the Forts and garrison life along the Niagara River area during the War of 1812. Dr. Turner will be including many seldom seen images of the interior of Fort Mississauga in Niagara On The Lake.
The lecture is to be held at the Iron Duke House at the Wellington Brewery in Guelph, Ontario located at 950 Woodlawn Road West on Friday, October 23rd, 2009.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Lecture commences at 7:30 p.m.
Speaker will host a Q&A at 8:30
Social commences at 9:00
