An American underwater exploration team have discovered the wreck of
HMS Victory, sunk in 1744 in the English Channel.
It was supposed to have had 100,000 gold coins on board when it sank.
The ship, like her successor, was the most heavily armed ship in the
Royal Navy of her day. She was launched in 1737.
