      At a past meeting of the organizing committee for Fanshawe 1812 we
      took a look at several issues.

      Boats will once again be docked at the yacht club during the evenings
      to provide security for the boats at night.
      Boat crews will be allowed to launch at the boat launch at the dam so
      that putting boats in and taking them out will be much easier.
      The site is talking with the conservation authority about seeing to
      having the boats pull up on shore for the afternoon.

      Security will man the main gate each evening from 10pm.

      Modern camping is available within the group camping area of the
      conservation area which is a short walk to the village.

      The schedule has been changed to allow for more free time for all and
      the order of drums and artillery have changed prior to the battle.
      This will allow for use of the drums to muster troops and escort them
      to battle and to allow for artillery to engage in a duel of sorts.
      Similar to that of Longwoods, banging away at each other prior to the
      battle.

      The crops have been rotated so the battle scene will change somewhat
      and there is a possibility of a different location for the battle
      Saturday and Sunday.

      Reminder to register on line.
      Re-enactors to register at;

      Sutlers to register at;
      http://fanshawe1812.tripod.com/id9.html

      Camps will be the same as last year with Sutler locations changing up
      a bit. A map of camp locations is listed on the site.

      The period tavern which the site has acquired is on site and MAY be
      open for business at the 1812 event. It may not be pretty, but it may
      be functional. Stay tuned.

      Back to breakfasts again for those who register ahead of arrival.
      Evening entertainment provided by Three Penny Piece.

      Anyone who has any suggestions for a better event just let us know.
