The manuscript of Cooke's second book runs some 320 pages, of which
only the first 85 deal with his time in France and England. Several
chapters are taken up with the Voyage, "Mouth of the Mississippi" and
so on, but a full 135 pages are devoted to the following chapters:
      "Camp before New Orleans"
      "First Attempt on New Orleans"
      "Camp... (continued)"
      "Battle for New Orleans"
      "Retreat from New Orleans" and
      "L'Ilse Duaphin",

with a final 20 or so pages covering Cooke's return to england, via
Havanah, Cuba. A very entertaining narrative, full of the minutia and
anecdotes so valuable to those who want to understand the period and
      it's people.
