How can it be that re-enactors are the friendliest, nicest people you
could meet? Take over 600 people of all ages, from all walks of
life, from all over North America and jam them together on a small
island for up to 5 days in the sweltering heat with most of them
armed to the teeth carrying muskets, bayonets or swords and you end
up having a great re-enactment weekend known as the Siege of Wasaga
      2005.

Add to that thousands of members of the public, a number of medical
situations requiring ambulances, a battle cut short for a public
emergency and numerous re-enactors volunteering for the search and
the re-enactors became even more courteous and helpful. Where else
can you find a great group of people to spend your time with on a hot
      summer weekend?

THANK YOU to everyone who helped and participated to make WASAGA
UNDER SIEGE 2005 such a GREAT EXPERIENCE. And thank you to David
Brunelle for the opportunity to serve such a good group.

Gentlemen and Ladies, I remain your humble and obedient servant,

      Gord Deans,

on detached service to the Royal Navy,
on the Great Lakes, Upper Canada
