Announcing the Year 2000 Grande Tactique de la Brigade Napoleon
      ---------------------------------------------------------------
The main North American Napoleonic event for the year 2000 will be held at
Historic Fort Morgan, near Mobile, Alabama on March 10-12, 2000. This will
provide a warm get away for participants from the North, and the rich
tourist spots provide ample diversions for families wishing to extend their
      visit.

The event is open to units of all nations from the period 1789-1815.
Period sutlers are invited as well. The site has water, showers and indoor
plumbing available. Limited space in also available in the bastions and
barrack for those who can't bring tents. We are negotiating with local
reenactment units to borrow or rent proper canvas, but that is still in the
talking stage. A field kitchen will be set up in a casement and will be
available all day. Friday the 10th is a school visitation day and who
wants to be there early can come in Thursday to be ready for Friday.

In the area there are several forts and museums. Fort Gaines is across the
bay and can be reached by ferry. We are negotiating for free ferry rides
for any reenactor in period attire. New Orleans is just 2.5 hours away,
and Pensecola which has the Naval Air Museum is just 1.5 hours away.

Finally, there are two near period guns available for qualified crews.
