Just a quick reminder to everyone that the Fifth Annual Historic
Merchants' Christmas Gathering takes place this Saturday, December 4th,
10:00 am to 4:00 p.m. at Melrose United Church, at the corner of Locke
Street and Homewood Avenue in Hamilton, Ontario. Over 20 period
merchants will be on hand to provide quality goods for your Christmas
shopping pleasure, and for those of you who require that last butter
tart (or two . . . or three) to make it through the winter, 4 and 20
Blackbirds will be providing hot and cold refreshments as well as a wide
variety of their traditional baked goods throughout the day. Come for
breakfast (cinnamon buns baked on-site that morning!) or elevenses.
Melrose United Church is situated just at the end of Locke Street,
Hamilton's renowned "Antiques Alley," and there are seven museums within
a short driving distance, so come on out and make a day of it!
Admission is $3.00 per person, but we'll let you in free of charge if
you come dressed in period attire (or if you happen to be 12 years old
      or younger).

For further information, please check out the website at
      www.historicmerchants.com.

I'm given to understand that MapQuest has been having a problem
producing maps today, so the "click here for a map" link on the website
may or may not be functional at the moment. The directions are
      (thankfully) easy:

      From Toronto or London:
Take the 403 into Hamilton, and take the Aberdeen exit (you can only go
one way on this exit). Follow Aberdeen to Locke Street, and turn left
(you can only turn left onto Locke Street from Aberdeen). Melrose
United is one block down on your right. We suggest that you turn right
at Homewood Avenue (the cross street to Locke at the church corner) and
park on the street or follow the signs around the block to the church
      parking lot. Parking is free!

If you have any questions or inquiries, please contact Christine Bingham
      at c.bingham@....

      Hope to see you there!

      Best regards,
