Lundy's Lane and Chippawa
- Greetings, with only 5 days left to go for Lundy's Lane and Chippawa I thought I would post one final (yeah right) update!
There are 305 people registered, making this much more than we expected. (I was hoping that we would break the 200 mark)
I would like to thank you all for your support of this event. I have rec'd many calls and emails asking if I need help. (just bring me a beer or wine for the Officer's mess)
The site will be open at noon of Friday to set up your camp. Please register before you set up your tent (yes folks there are that many!)
The Battlefield Commemorative Wall is up so have a look at it and hang out in the cemetery. The Lundy's Lane Museum is open from 10-5 and the Battle Ground Hotel (Redmond property) is open from
12-4 the Willoughby Museum in Chippawa is open from 12-5.
Please remember the only way to get on the Chippawa field on Sunday is to get on the bus (unless your artillery) and that is leaving from Niagara Falls.
Also if you are just showing up you will NOT GET FOOD!! I have tried to accomodate everyone, but we are at the maximum for food!! There is lots of places to eat in Niagara Falls don't worry!
All border crossings in Niagara have been notified as well as Windsor/Detroit. Both sides have been given copies of the Firearms act as it pertains to black powder reproductions. (Although they are on job action right now so wait times are longer)
Things are going well. All we need now is weather like we had this weekend (Sunny and clear 20 C or 70 F)
See you in 5 days!!
