      Subject: Ft Meigs Thank You

It was truly enjoyable starting the season off with a successful show. I
would like to thank all the other re-enactors for their time and effort.
The sponsorship from the people from Ft. Meigs is what brought us together
and made all of this possible. I would also like to express my thanks to
the British units for their actions, especially on Sunday. I am only
familiar with my small view from my position on the field. Near the end of
the battle when the British units formed the defensive square, the view was
amazing. It looked like it had been choreographed, practiced, drilled,
practiced again and had the appearance of a highly trained, precision SINGLE
unit. The view from the audience had to be equally if not more impressive.
The "RANKS" were Straight and Square and in addition, from my angle, all the
rifle/musket barrels were aligned. A truly awesome view from any, not just
an enlisted's point of view. The formation could have been used for
demonstration purposes outside of Parliament in Ottawa. My only thought
was: "That's a Red-Coated porcupine - all those quills. A person could get
seriously hurt if they got too close".
(Thanks U.S. Artillery - reach out and touch someone).
