The Battle of Mackinac Island
In 1814 American forces attempted to retake Mackinac Island from
British forces. Relive this battle on American soil as over 100
reenactors in authentic uniforms and bearing authentic weapons clash
surrounded by cannon smoke and battle cries.
Program starts inside historic Fort Mackinac with music and a brief
presentation to set the stage of the battle and a dedication of Fort
Mackinac's new North Blockhouse exhibit.
The excitement increases as a scout rushes into the fort to warn of
the American troops arrival on the island. Follow the action as the
British troops respond and march into action!
