      A footnote on steamboats. Dr. William Dunlop, of the 89th Regiment mentions thet he had planned to sail with some of his fellow officers on the Steamboat. However,
      they missed it and had to contend with what he calls 'one of the wrecthed river craft'. He also mentions in his memoirs that the Swiftsure was the only steamboat in the
      Canadas at that time (1813).
      It appears anyway that travel by military personnel on a steamboat during the war was done. But the Swiftsure was a relatively small vessel, and could not have taken
      too many soldiers.
