It is with much regret that I find it my lot to announce to you the death of Col. Elliott which took place about ab hour ago, in him the service will sustain an irreplaceable loss.
You will no doubt make his death known to Genl. Drummond, I will write to Maj. General Riall, if you could possibly come over it would be very satisfactory.
