- Nov 13, 2014I'm sure this is not news to many of you - but if you haven't seen "The Slave Hunters," - DO. A great and cohesive story about social issues in the Joseon era, based on fact. great action sequences with derring-do martial arts, grisly torture, sexy romance, romantic romance, pathos, humor, triumph and tragedy - and all in 24 eps. And SO many familiar faces, seen in other historicals and contemporary dramas, too. Notable: Kim Kap-Soo in a supporting role as the king; but you'll recognize a dozen, easily, in large and small supporting roles, and even cameos. This won lots of awards in Korea in 2010, and it deserved them. One of the most talented actresses has a small supporting role, as an aristocrat wife, married to one of the more conflicted characters (one you love to hate) - she realistically portrays a woman with cerebral palsy, intelligent but severely handicapped, whose husband married her to get ahead.WATCH IT - YOU'LL LOVE IT!Happy Thanksgiving everyone! - Donna Thomas
