Group Description

The Western Wayne Pool League has been an institution in the Palmyra-Macedon area of upstate NY for over 25 years. It is a an independent tavern based pool league, that plays it's matches every Tuesday night at each of the sponsoring taverns. It starts in September and runs until spring. The length is determined by the number of teams and rounds agreed upon. The league is mixed co-ed, with no regulations on the gender make up of a team. It tracks and honors both team and individual places. There is an annual year end individual tournament and banquet. Like billiards in general, the league has experienced significant growth the past few years. In 2007, it had grown to 15 teams. To avoid a six month plus season, it cut back to a single round, yet added position nights, and a team tournament. The league is a BCA style, handicapped, "ball in hand" league. Every team consists of four players, who play every player on the opposing team. This creates 16 game matches that take roughly three hours to play. The league has always been about a fun night out. Weekly dues are kept low, and the end of the year payouts fair. For these reasons, the league has chosen to remain independent and not become affiliated with any of the billiard sanctioning bodies. This group site is designed to keep it's players and tavern sponsors informed with weekly stats, and have a convenient place to contact each other and get information such as rules, and schedules.
