Group Description

This group is an UNOFFICIAL communications venue for all Alumni and friends of West Virginia State University.

West Virginia State University is a historically black university, which has evolved into a fully accessible, racially diverse, and multi-generational institution offering baccalaureate, associate, and graduate degrees. The suburban University is located in Institute, WV, eight miles from downtown Charleston. The ninety-four acre campus is a state assisted higher education institution with an approximate enrollment of 5,000 students.

We have TWO different but connected things going on here.

FIRST -- we have the WVStateUniv@yahoogroups.com email list. If you received and accepted an email invitation to subscribe to the group, you became a member of the email list. Whenever an email is sent to the group you will receive a copy in the mailbox that you registered. And, a copy will be posted in the message section of this website. You don't have to actually visit the website to be on or use this list - just address email to WVStateUniv@yahoogroups.com and everyone who subscribed to list will get a copy. This operates like the listserv that many are familiar with.

SECOND - we have http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WVStateUniv- the actual website. This is where the photo albums, calendar, message base, databases, and chat room are located. You need a YAHOO! ID in order to access all the elements of the site. It is easy to associate an existing YAHOO! ID or to create a new one (I have 9 IDs). Just visit the website and click on the JOIN link on top right corner of the home page.

"There is a place we love so dear....just one more step from there is heav'n above."
