      Medieval Egyptian "Blackwork" Embroidery
      A brief survey of surviving "blackwork" style embroidery from
      medieval Egypt, and the working of a small sample piece.
      Extensive handout with charted patterns.
      Instructor: Tangwystyl verch Morgant Glasvryn
      Fee: $2 for handout
      Limit: Hands-on limited to 5 people; no limit on auditors
      (includes handout).
      Bring an embroidery hoop if you have one.

      Pattern Darning
      Pattern Darning is an ancient form of counted-thread embroidery
      that is both fast and easy.
      Instructor : Aja du Jardin
      Limit: 6

      2-3:45 pm � Sat
      Italian Linen Work Embroidery
      The stitches are counted stitches used for filling in
      spaces similar to how counted cross stitch is used. Students
      will be
      provided with hand-outs, linen, silk threads, and needles.
      Instructor: Ascelin Meere of Ravenslocke

      Limit: 5
      Bring: Embroidery scissors and hoop
      Skill level: Intermediate

      Underside Couching Stitch
      Learn how to do one of the primary stitches used in Opus
      Anglicanum during the 13th & 14th C.
      Instructor: Isela di Bari.
      Limit: 6
      Fee: $10 fee includes Ecclesiastical linen, silk and metal
      threads, stretcher bars, wax, and handout. Bring embroidery
      scissors
      to cut metal thread and magnification, if needed.
