      SCCA Autocross Solo #12

      Sunday, October 27th, 2013

10 AM to 5 PM. Most likely will end earlier than this. Just depends on the number of entries.

The location is at the old Naval Training Air Base in Yoder, Kansas.

Registration is $35 for non SCCA members.

This will be for 4-5 races. Helmets are provided for those who do not own one. There are three different heats. You are required to work / participate in one heat and you drive in one heat. The third heat is a great time to watch and / or ride along with other racers.

For those who don't understand Autocross, you race yourself against the clock through a cone course. A great way to test your skills and really push the limits of your ride on an enclosed course. Speeds are usually under 70 mph. One car runs at a time so there is no chance of a collision. The worst would be a spin out and / or running over some cones.

You will need to have everything removed from inside your car and truck space. Floor mats must be removed from the driver's side (so that there is no chance of getting caught under the brake or gas pedals.)

Registration can be done online or the morning of the event. Registration and Car Safety Inspections are done at 8:30 am. Registration is closed and the first cars start racing at 10:00 am. Races can last until 4-5pm depending on how many cars are there. You will need to bring drinks and lunch and snacks. There is a bathroom on site. (A port-a-potty)

The website and map for directions is at the following:

      Directions: http://www.wichitascca.org/Maps/MapToYoder.html

If you do not pre-register and plan to register the day of make sure you get there before 10:00! Registration closes at 9:30!!

Also, there is a family with small children that live between the entrance and the event site. Drive very slowly (10mph) past their home. If this family complains, we can lose this location!
