      Midland Amateur Radio Club Sponsors
      Annual Hamfest and Computer Show

      (Midland, MI, April 19, 2006) The Midland Amateur
      Radio Club will be holding it's 32nd annual Hamfest on
      Saturday, June 17th, 2006, to be held in the
      Gerstacker Fair Center on the Midland County
      Fairgrounds. The site is just north of US 10 on
      Eastman Road, directly across from the Midland Mall.
      Vendor set-up is at 6:30 am, with doors opening for
      the public at 8:00 am. Tickets are $5.00. The MARC
      Hamfest traditionally features commercial vendors as
      well as table space available for amateurs with
      equipment to sell and trade. A vast array of amateur
      radio equipment and accessories, computers and
      software, parts, coaxial cable and connectors will
      greet visitors to the Gerstacker facility. The
      Midland Amateur Radio Club's large stock of vintage
      and hard-to-find vacuum tubes will also available for
      sale.
      Outside, a large space will be available for trunk
      sales, and visitor parking is free.
      The Club will be offering VE exams on-site for those
      wishing to earn their Ham Radio license, or those
      wishing to upgrade and earn new privileges.
      Registration for the exams begins when the Hamfest
      doors open at 8:00 am; testing begins promptly at 9:00
      am. Applicants need to bring two pieces of ID, copies
      of any licenses and certificates that applicable and
      two pencils. Calculators are optional. Test fee is
      $14.00. If applicants choose to visit the Hamfest
      after their tests, the gate fee is not included in the
      testing fee. Candidates should take note that the
      Technician Test pool will be changing on July 1st.
      For those planning on staying overnight,
      accommodations including the Fairview Inn, Hampton
      Inn, Holiday Inn are available nearby. For further
