We'd love to have you get involved in our efforts to create a P-Patch (and other improvements) within Greenwood Park.
We hope within the very near future to have some updates posted here on this website concerning our grant applications and any success we are having in obtaining funding (many require matching volunteer hours).
Part of these improvements (Phase I) is to get funding to create approximately 40 plots in the North lot on the Fremont Avenue side.
I can tell you that people need to sign up with the Department of Neighborhoods website if looking for a P-Patch in this Park. As of last summer they had a waiting list with well over 100 names looking for a Patch in this neighborhood.
If you are not already on their list, I recommend you sign up post haste. See the following URL for more information:
Part of the selection/rating process for obtaining a Patch does include prioritizing people who put in volunteer efforts and time.
I also recommend that you fill out our volunteer survey on Survey Monkey. The website includes questions about how you might spend time as a volunteer, and assists us in getting a sense of what might interest you:
Please see SurveyMonkey.com, for the survey named:
Greenwood Park 2010 Volunteer Inquiry
It takes about 5 minutes to complete.
Meanwhile, we'll add your name to the e-mail broadcast list for our project. We are not quite ready to start up a Patch Planning COmmittee, but we're almost there!
If I can answer any further questions, feel free to write back!
