Lake Superior Renaissance Faire
JP extended yet another Thank You to the group for making the faire a success. He also informed the group about the wrap up party at Norrie park on Sunday.
Tina and Virginia informed the group that they had received complaints from faire goers and entertainers about some Darkstone members. JP will discuss the matter with Cy.
Hollie and Cassie have been researching what it takes to put out a newsletter and they reported to the group that there will be an issue out sometime in September.
The newsletter will be a printed publication, not an electronic one. It was also decided that the newsletter will be privately funded. Ideas for content (asides from the given reports to the populace form the Seneschal and other officers) are slogans on the bottom of pages, a fragment of the food timeline that Tina brought could be put into each edition, recipes, comics and things of the sort
A poll will be set up on the Yahoo group so that members can vote on a name for our newsletter. The name of "Northwoods Noggin Droppings" was well received with many a belly laugh.
According to the new edition of Northshield, There are new handbooks available online. Please check to see if your handbooks (officer or fighting) have been replaced with a new revision so that you can become familiar with new policies and regulations.
A Culinary Cookbook
JP suggested we combine all the recipes we have gathered into one cookbook. JP suggested the name "The Anachronists Cookbook"
Our Next Culinary Challenge
A new culinary challenge has been set for Saturday, July 11th. The criteria for this challenge is simply that it be authentic from the medieval ages to Renaissance era, any culture.
A drawing was held to see whom would take what course, the results are as follows.
Cassie and Lawrence-Veggie course
Lea-Soup or Salad
Tina-Main course of choice
Ginny-Meat dish and Beverage
Hollie and JP-Dessert
The course of Appetizer (bread/cheese/fruit) is still open should anyone like to take it.
We will talk to Don about a suggestion he had for a good web hosting service and see if he could post that info on the group.
Armouring / Pell / Rattan Workshop
JP told the group about what he and Don learned at the armoring session that Mark had a couple Sundays ago. JP offered to help with another armoring workshop in the future. JP also offered to hold a rattan working workshop as well as a pell making workshop whenever fellow members should like.
JP wrote to Lady Freydis about the archery day she proposed a while back and has yet to hear anything back.
Cassie's Change of Officer Form
Cassie told us that she has been contacted a couple of times about her Change of Officer form not being received. JP will send a copy once more.
Tina read off part of her upcoming Exchequer Quarterly report. As of now, Ketelblaster has raised $473.31 (between the past two quarters) and has transferred that money over to Darkstone to hold in their bank account.
Due to the 4th of July holiday, Ketelblastr's next Thing and Gathering is scheduled for Saturday, July 11th beginning at 4:00 at Powdermill Resort.
