OccupyFaith this Sunday at Zucotti Park, 3:30 p.m.
- SUNDAY - 12/4/2011 - Multi-Faith Service at 3:30PM - Zuccotti Park
COMMUNITIES OF SHALOM - United Methodist Church - Drew University- OCCUPY ADVENT
Occupy Faith NYC will continue to stand in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement with a special multi-faith service at 3:30PM entitled "Occupy Advent." Under the leadership of The Rev. Dr. Michael Christensen, Communities of Shalom will host our Multi-Faith Service this week to stand in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Communities of Shalom is an initative of the United Methodist Church and the Drew Theological School in Madison, NJ. The 1992 Los Angeles Riots left a community in distress. The General Conference of the United Methodist Church and other activists such as the Rev. James Lawson helped to inaugurate this initative to develop and strengthen communities.
Joining us in solidarity along with other guests will be:
Bishop Jeremiah Park - Resident Bishop - New York Annual Conference
Rev. Dr. Tanya Linn Bennett - University Chaplain - Drew University
Bishop Alvin Johnson - Senior Minister, Church of the Village
We will begin promptly at 3:30 PM in Zuccotti Park - let us come together and "Occupy Advent" in expectation and hope for democracy and justice!
In Faith and Solidarity,
Eric C Jackson
Community Minister @ Judson Memorial Church
