      July 18 – 20 2008 in New Jersey

"This is the way of peace: Overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred
      with love." -Peace Pilgrim 1908-1981

Peace Pilgrim walked 25,000 counted miles between 1953 and 1964, bringing her
message of peace among nations, peace among groups, peace among individuals, and
personal inner peace, to communities across the United States. She continued her
pilgrimage until killed in a road accident in1981.

Peace was a strict vegetarian who supported vegan principles by her example. Her story
and teachings are preserved in a book Peace Pilgrim: Her Life and Work in Her Own Words,
and pocket-sized guide Steps Toward Inner Peace: Harmonious Principles for Human
Living. During Peace's pilgrimage her personal details and identity were not revealed. We
now know that she was born in Egg Harbor City, in New Jersey, and her name was Mildred
Lisette Norman. Read more about Peace at www.peacepilgrim.org.
