INTERDEPENDENCE DAY BLOCK PARTY, Sunday, July 4, Noon-7pm, (Live music with Saint Mad from 1-3pm), Fernon St between 2nd & Moyamensing in South Philly. Join Public Eye: Artists for Animals, Peace Advocacy Network, Vegan Drinks Philly and The Vegan Bus for a 4th of July block party! The Vegan Bus is a group of activists, artists, & speakers traveling on a full-sized school bus running on waste vegetable oil. The Bus uses art, performance, and media to raise awareness of the connections between dietary choice, personal health, cultural ethics, and globally sustainable ecology. Live music, hula hoops, face painting, arts & crafts, games for adults and children, and free vegan food samples. Bring a picnic lunch, beverages, and lawn chairs for your family. Each individual in your party (except children under 12) brings a vegetarian** dish to share that will feed at least 6 people (vegan*** dishes preferred so that all types of vegetarians may enjoy the food); recipe or list of ingredients; and your own plate, cup, and utensils (if possible - we will have extra)
