Please send this to your email lists and especially people you know that worked at Schlage Lock or had relatives who worked there.  This is an industrial site that we probably will never see again in San Francisco...which for environmental issues is good but more than that it was the Employees of Schlage Lock that made this a memorable site.  The camaraderie and loyalty to a Company that most of us will not have experienced in our lifetime....along with a real work ethic!  This was the "industrial age" at its best right her in our backyard....that brought people to live; work and shop in Visitacion Valley.  Leland Avenue was where you went to cash your paycheck; buy lunch; shop at the dime store or do your nightly grocery shopping....most were Schlage Lock Employees!   And remember look on your key ring and you probably have a Schlage Lock key on it!
