Wondering where to start, as busy urban dwellers, towards sustainable living? Learning about the benefits of fruit trees and their associated ecosystem could be a great first step.
Instead of going out and purchasing a tree that might not do well in your microclimate, or one that has needs that you're unaware, we do the hand holding from the start -- but it doesn't end there...
On July 23, 2011, the FREE Roots to Fruits, TASTING OUR SHARED FRUITURE event will celebrate local abundance, knowledge, skillshare and Summer Fruit Tasting!

Family Friendly Activities will include:
Fruit Tasting & Tree Sale – tree planting is a commitment, you get to taste the fruit before deciding on what variety you want to plant!

San Francisco— through a new annual event series, Roots to Fruits offers a unique opportunity to sample the tastiest fruits you can grow in Bay Area microclimates before you pre-order young fruit trees. The trees will arrive in January, the perfect season for planting.
The kickoff event,“Roots to Fruits: Tasting our Shared Fruiture” will focus on family fun by hosting a day filled with educational talks and demos. A host of Bay Area’s experts on gardening, homesteading, water harvesting and urban forestry will be available to answer your questions. Small producers including breadmakers, canners, jammers, beekeepers and fruit growers will share practical solutions that can help support our shared food system. It is all about wise utilization of resources!
