      Hello Everyone,

A quick announcement that we are currently seeking muralists/artists that would be interested in getting involved in our Roll Down Gate Mural Project that we have coming up. The idea is to paint 10 murals and the rolldown gates that come down at night in front of businesses along Mission Street from Silver to Geneva Avenues. Each mural will be planned and painted by a different artist in collaboration with a small group of youth. Each different group of youth will represent either a school or organization within the neighborhood. We project to have all 10 murals painted by June of 2011. Because the surface is corrugated metal, the preferred medium is spray paint, though we are emphasizing a traditional mural style instead of your typical legal graffiti mural. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please forward them this email. Attached you will find the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) which has more details as well as steps to get involved. Basically we are asking for examples of the artists work as well as a paragraph about themselves and why they are interested. This is a paid gig. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email or call me. I look forward to hearing back from some very talented people! As usual, local artists preferred but not required. Thank you.
