HB 2390 Park& Recreational Bond Act of 2001 was voted unanimously out of the Capital Outlay Subcommittee and full Appropriations Committee of the House of Delegates.
Urge all House Member to support the Bill when it reaches the House floor.
Also urge the members to support the operations and maintenance Budge Amendments for Parks.
There is concern about HB 2390 passing the Senate. Please contact all Senators and urge them to support the Bill and let the voters of Virginia decide in November.

On January 16, 2001 David G. Brickley, Director of the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation made a presentation to the Natural Resources Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee. In regards to the impact of budget cuts facing his agency’s division of state parks his report states, "While State Parks will not be closed, the hours, facilities, services and programs will be affected. In addition, state-wide advertising, extended season and operational support, reservation center operations, environmental education programs, visitors’ and discovery centers, swimming, boating and other activities will be affected."
