"How often have you heard about complaints within the homeschooling community about the boogey-monster known as "THEY"?  THEY won't let us participate.  THEY won't listen to us.  THEY are making things more difficult."  In the July-August VaHomeschoolers newsletter Ann Cameron Siegal details some of the effective strategies when it comes to making your case with the powers-that-be.

Want a super easy way to volunteer for VaHomeschoolers? Bring our VaHomeschoolers Brochures with you on your next trip to the library! Most libraries have areas where community groups can post or leave information so check with your local librarian.

VaHomeschoolers  is one of the charities participating in GoodSearch, a new Internet search engine that donates half of the advertising revenue it earns to charity.  Each time you use GoodSearch and designate Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers as your charity of choice, GoodSearch will donate a portion of the advertising revenue from the search, about a penny per search, to VaHomeschoolers.  These pennies quickly add up.

It's simple. You use GoodSearch.com like any other search engine; the site is powered by Yahoo!  And each time you do, money is generated for VaHomeschoolers.

Just go to www.goodsearch. com and specify Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers as your designated charity and click verify.  After the first time, each time you search with GoodSearch, VaHomeschoolers will appear as your designated charity.  There is even a button you can click to see the number of searches and the amount raised.

Add GoodSearch to your bookmarks or add it to your search toolbars {see www.goodsearch. com for instructions on adding it to Internet Explorer and Firefox toolbars}.  Help us by spreading the word to your family and friends to generate more contributions.
