      1 Week to Go!

The VaHomeschoolers seminar on Homeschooling and College Entrance is just one week away, and registration deadlines are coming fast.  This seminar is not an annual event and unlike our conferences, if you miss our November 11th date you won't have another chance in 2010.

Do you have a middle school or high school age son or daughter who is interested in attending college?  This is your chance to gather the information that will help them succeed.  Advance registration online or via postal mail guarantees that we will have enough handouts at this special event.  Walk-in registration requires a late fee, so don't let the opportunity for advance registration slip away!

This all-day seminar takes place Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond. A $5 late fee will be added to all registrations made after today, Monday, November 2, so register now!

Mail-in registrations must also be postmarked by today, Monday, November 2; online registrations must be completed by Friday, November 6.  After November 6, only walk-in registrations will be available.  You can register at www.vahomeschoolers.org/seminars

Get all the information you need to plan a successful high school experience and negotiate the college admissions process at this day-long event sponsored by VaHomeschoolers. Sessions include:

      • Transcripts without Tears
      • College Admissions Q & A
      • Investigating Opportunities for Financial Aid
      • Community College Education for Homeschoolers

Hear about the pros and cons to different high school approaches.  Learn the ins and outs of preparing an effective transcript.

Join experienced homeschool parents and college representatives* to discuss the college admissions process for homeschoolers.  Focus on opportunities for financial aid with Mr. Lee Andes, the Assistant Director for Financial Aid for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).  Find out about the resources available to homeschoolers within Virginia's community college system.

*College representatives include Christopher Newport University, Old Dominion University, Randolph-Macon College, Shenandoah University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Virginia Tech.

It's all at the seminar - we'll see you there!
