We are asking your support in a new opportunity to promote awareness of our professional organization. The BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy, which will be July 28-31, has offered us a room free of charge at their event. We would like to implement a program which has been tried by other chapters throughout the United States. This is titled by some “Ancestors Roadshow.” The event involves scheduling thirty minute free consultations with patrons of the conference who wish personal consultations to get free advice on their research roadblocks.
On one day of the conference, Thursday, July 30 we would like to schedule consultations with members of our chapters who would like to promote our quality profession. Each consultation will only be thirty minutes. Business cards will be distributed but one company should not be promoted. If you wish to participate please send me your name and geographic specialty; also, if you would prefer morning or afternoon. The conference ends at 5PM. We will have two consultations every thirty minutes. I will produce a flyer with an explanation of our services and the hours for each specialty that will be included in each patron’s registration packet. We will require early sign-up on Wednesday, July 29, so I can email you if your time is not filled.
If you would be willing to help, please email me before Friday, July 17.
Thank you for your support.
