APG class at UGA conference
- I'll be presenting a class _Increase Genealogical Mileage With a Research Professional_ at the Utah Genealogical Association conference on Sat, Sep 13th.
The proposed class description: Embrace this era of specialization. There are family history professionals representing a broad range of expertise and specialization whose diverse skills can assist you to solve challenging research problems. Trust members of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) to adhere to a professional Code of Ethics.
I'd like to be able to present a variety of real-life examples in which the aid of a knowledgeable specialist made a difference in solving a research problem (DNA testing, deciphering handwriting, knowledge of local resources, adoption, heir searching, understanding inconsistencies...you get the picture). Please share with me such examples from your own experience. (Feel free to send them to me privately.) These will certainly enhance the presentation.
I'll have copies of the APG brochure about what to expect from a research specialist.
Gotta continue to promote APG!
