      Hi, they are common to all tanks and are essentially harmless. Usually they multiply and become so visible and so many as a result in tank temperatures being too high or on the upper edge of acceptable temp ranges. If you decrease your tank temp a few degrees they will disapear.

      I've heard of small white worm type creatures about 1/16-1/8" long. I think
      they're harmless and maybe a result of poor water quality.
