I don't know if anyone is interested, but this is an awesome campaign that I
learned about Progressive Alliance. I am definetly going to this meeting
tommorow and thought some of you might be interested as well.

This fall, The University will have an amazing opportunity to generate
awareness about important poverty issues in Texas.
Student organizations and students from all over campus are invited to be a
of Project Opportunity- a new student initiative that will identify social
problems that lead to poverty. Through a strong community outreach, Project
Opportunity will help create and propose effective poverty policy solutions
well as help create better opportunities for others through community
Project Opportunity will begin at 10 universities across the country this
It is sponsored by the Center for Promise and Opportunity, which was created
former North Carolina Senator John Edwards. Project Opportunity is a
non-partisan initiative that will look past political lines in order help
that need it most- millions of American living in poverty.
Please join us for our first meeting this Tuesday May 3 at 8:00 pm in the
Union 40 Acres Room (by the sushi place). We are in the planning process,
this meeting will be an overview of what to expect from Project Opportunity.
We understand it is short notice, but we have a few items to take care of,
including the assignment of leadership positions. We are very interested in
