Former Obama-aide likes VP Condoleezza Rice, as Republican Vice-President running-mate

When the Roundtable discussion on ABC's This Week Sunday predictably turned to who Mitt Romney should pick as his running mate if he seals the Republican presidential nomination, former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones made an interesting observation.
"You want to do something bold, put Condoleezza Rice on the ticket and watch the Obama campaign go crazy" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, HOST: No -- well, that -- but on the other hand, Van Jones, maybe he does, and this is picking up on the other points you all were making as to avoid a -- any pick that looks transparently political and calculated, that could be his biggest problem.
VAN JONES, FORMER OBAMA ADVISER: I think that's right. And one thing I think is interesting is, if you want to do something shocking, you want the tea party base excited, nobody has talked about Condoleezza Rice.
But think about this. She checks off a lot of boxes, as far as women, she's a person of color, if the optics matter. But she's actually tested. She is actually a national figure. She has foreign policy experience. She was secretary of state. And she's sitting there.
Now people say, you know, you want to do something bold, put Condoleezza Rice on the ticket and watch the Obama campaign go crazy.
ANN COULTER: Not a chance. Too much like a Sarah Palin. It will not be a woman.

Isn't this typical of a former Obama advisor, and we must assume a Democrat to feel compelled to mention group politics, the politics of gender, the politics of race?
Listen up Van and Ann, Condoleezza Rice is not just "a" woman.
Neither is Condoleezza Rice just "a" person of colour.
Condoleezza Rice is an exceptional individual, not to be confused with millions of others because of her gender or colour of skin.
Van Jones was right on the money though when he said -
"she's actually tested. She is actually a national figure. She has foreign policy experience. She was secretary of state."
Right, Van. So let's leave it at that. Although actually, Condi is not just an American national figure but also an international figure, respected the world over.
Few Americans can take to an international stage with the authority that Condi has with other world leaders.
Yes "other" world leaders. Condi still is a world leader, even out of office. It's called being "paramount". Look it up.
So in our opinion in Rice for President Yahoo Group, Condoleezza Rice is the best person to be president or vice president irrespective of gender or colour of skin.
Here's why Romney or whoever gets the GOP nomination should want Condi on the GOP ticket for VP:
Condi would do the best job as Vice President.
That's all that should matter.
