The BABS Board of Directors is pleased to announce a new quartet contest, to be known as the British Open Barbershop Quartet Contest. Entry is restricted to UK based male quartets having no more than one BABS’ member, and those male quartets based outside the United Kingdom. The competition will be one round of two songs per quartet, and in 2011 will be held on Sunday 29th May during the BABS’ Convention in the Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

There is no entry fee for the contest, although competitors will have to register for the Convention; if attending only on the day of the contest there is a special reduced price of £10 per individual, or £5 if aged 16 years or under. This allows entry to all events on the day apart from shows, for which tickets are available on the Convention website, www.sing2011.com/index.htm. Registrations for longer periods are also available on the site.
Please contact me for an entry form or if you have any questions. It would be great to have non-barbershop a cappella singers showing what they can do singing in the barbershop style!
