      X-Factor finalists, chart-topping artists, West End performers and Mercury Prize Nominees are among the long list of professionals that award-winning company Sense of Sound have worked with to improve their vocal skills.

      Now they're turning their attention to us mere mortals with the launch of their public singing courses later this month. Sense of Sound, who are currently on a sell-out tour with Russell "The Voice" Watson, are holding two courses for over-16s at the Bluecoat, Liverpool.

      An Introduction to Singing runs for consecutive Saturdays, September 19 and 26, and focusses on a modern songs to provide an introduction to vocal techniques.

      The Singing in Harmony course, for the more experienced, will use a cappella group singing to explore musical styles from African to contemporary pop, soul and R'n'B.
