I've tried Erinmore (which I believe is going out of production soon),
which I'd read was very good, but seemed very strong/hot without enough
      flavour.

Hi - And welcome to the group.
I dallied with Erinmoor for a while, always found it rather sour to my
taste. I currently smoke several different blends, but they are all
ready-rubbed. I'm into aromatics nowadays, like Clan. Have you tried
        this type of baccy ?

Hi Richard, Yep, I think I tend to like the aromatics too. I haven t tried Clan because I read so many mixed reviews about it, though I ll give it a go now.

          Hi Richard,

Yep, I think I tend to like the aromatics too. I haven't tried Clan
because I read so many mixed reviews about it, though I'll give it a go
now. I'm currently enjoying one called 'Optimum' which is very
good. 'Kentucky Blue' is another one I bought, although I found it a
little too light. 'Condor Blended' is definitely a ready-rubbed
favourite. Gold Block was OK, although not really an aromatic, I can
appreciate why some people like it. 'St Bruno' made no impression at
          all.

I was surprised at how many people smoke Clan, especially in the
States, although it certainly does get mixed reviews. People who
dislike it, tend to REALLY hate it with a vengeance. I've long smoked
Cland, although I did once turn away from it, opting to the more
traditional flavour of Erinmore. Then my tastes changed again after a
decade and I came back to the aromatics. Over the years I've tried
various baccies, and I guess one's palette does change - We change
from a childs love of sweet things to more savoury tastes..... which
of course doesn't explain why I returned to Clan.

version, or copy of the Erinmore blend. It's happened with one or two
              other old classics.
