Earplugs and Audio
- I have used earplugs with helmet speakers for several years now. Seems
to work well for me. I use the 30db foam ones you roll up to insert. I
do cut them a little shorter so they don't stick out into the speakers.
They are a Chatterbox system where the speakers are velcroed into the
helmet. No problem with them moving or bothering my ears. I do notice
some soreness in my ears after several hours. But it does take awhile.
Usually taking them out at breaks or gas solves that.
Most of the time I use the Chatterbox HJC50 for intercom and have that
plugged into an Ipod Shuffle. Neat and easy. I have thought about
getting better speakers but just have not done it. Others have spliced
better speakers into the system.
Overall good sound for music and intercom. My wife and I commute 2-3
times a week for an hour each way. The small HJC50 unit has an always
on intercom which we like with the music over that. The larger
Chatterbox two-way system works as well but has a voice activated mic
system. I also had an Autocom system and for difference in price the
Chatterbox works well. The Autocom was bulkier and cost more.
- Go down to best buy and pick you up a set of Shure earbuds. They
insert directly into your ear to cancel any road noise and they play
music better then any other headphones. They are not cheap but they fit
well and they are perfect for the inside of a helmet since they fit
flush inside the ear.
- Morning all,
I had a problem with the factory fit heated grips switch, the the rocker
would not stay in either of the 'ON' positions. Pretty simple fix, and I
have hosted a few pics in a How-To guide up on my website for anyone who
encounters the same issue -
http://www.racebikehire.com/Workshop/Index.html . I'll be adding more
How-To's as and when I need to do more jobs on the Trophy. In hindsight,
I should have documented the throttle cable replacement as that was a
pig of a job, however it has only recently occurred to me that it would
be worth capturing this stuff.
Some search words for anyone searching the archives in future :- hot,
heated, grip, grips, fault, fix, issue, problem, switch, won't stay on.
