      Hi All,
Well being stuck in Texas left only one option for Sunday - head
further west. Gordy said he was heading to Lubbock so I had to! Today
was the final Sunday afternoon (5PM start) race before they switch to
Fridays. The tarck is black dirt with good banking and held up well in
the sun and wind until the graded it during the intermission. It dried
quickly and took on rubber in the features but the racing was closer
than the heats. The view was OK as there are some high dirt piles for
the motocross in the infield but it is otherwise clear. There were some
dark spots on the track and they could use more lights. Take everything
you will need for the night on your first trip to the stands as the
signs say you cannot re-enter without paying another admission ($7).
Tonight's races started about 45 minutes late and were done at 8:20.
The car counts were: 26 IMCA modifieds, 11 cruisers, 12 SIMS limited
mods and 7 stocks. The IMCA feature was good with Kelly Cross winning
from 10th over Monte Bolton (11th) and Vince Ogle (19th). The top was
fast for the most part but Terry Kaser figured the bottom out and moved
to third from 12th before he spun and only got back to finish 7th. They
could use some more cars and didn't have but a couple of hundred
      spectators on a nice afternoon.
