Attended the midwest season opener for the USAC Sprint cars on April 6th. 40 sprints were in attendance along with 16 modifieds and 12 hornets. The track went away way too early as the two fastest in hot laps drew late qualifying numbers and quick time was one of the first cars out. They worked on the track before the feature and boy was it a barnburner. Kevin Thomas wins from 11th starting spot with Chase Stockon second from 4th and Brady Bacon getting 3rd from 10th. Bacon was on his way to a win till a caution with two to go brought him back to third and after one more caution Kevin Thomas takes the lead on the white from Stockon. Bacon couldn't get a run on the bottom to make another move at the end. Dave
